Bed head units (BHU)
The bed head unit is a key equipment to the comfort of patients and their proper care during their stay in hospital.
A bed head unit is a piece of medical furniture usually found at the head end of a hospital bed. It provides lighting, medical gas supply, power, and communication services to occupants of a hospital ward. Aside from the services for patients, the bed head unit also provides aesthetics to the ward.
The medical gas outlet supplies medical gas like oxygen, medical vacuum, nitrous oxide, medical air, helium gas, or nitrogen gas to patients. The nurse call allows patients to communicate with the medical staff when needed. The electrical system provides treatment and reading lights and power sources through sockets. In addition, there can be multiple electrical and medical gas outlets depending on the length of the bed head unit.
The bead head unit is used in various hospital wards, including emerging wards, intensive care, and dialysis units. It is also known as a bed head panel or hospital bed head console.
